Rescue Remedy is a good short-term stopgap to help get through periods of shock, high stress and anxiety. Spray twice under the tongue at bedtime to help with anxiety sleep disorder in the short-term.
Q: My wife has been suffering from anxiety sleep disorder for the past few months now and it’s really a very difficult thing for her.
This started when she suffered from a miscarriage of our third child. I used to think it was something between post partum depression and the obvious trauma.
But it’s clearly something deeper. I mean, during the day, she gets easily addled and worried by so many things. She gets very panicky a lot and it shows in the way she talks very fast.
It becomes hard to talk to her. That’s ok, of course. I mean, I understand she’s going through such a difficult thing.
What really gets to me is that she’ll toss and turn a lot at night and have a difficult time getting any sleep at all. I really feel helpless.
I love her and want her to get rest too. It’s affecting her health too. What can I do?
Eva’s response: What a beautiful husband you are Carlos, and I’m honoured that you reached out to me to help you with your wife.
I’m very sorry for the loss of your unborn baby. I know that pain.
Energetically-speaking, your wife has had a wide range of vibrational changes in a very small period of time (that’s what trauma is).
Ups and downs, while frustrating and frankly a downright pain to deal with, are part of the healing process. I do feel that your wife will heal in time, if she is allowed the space to do so.
There are a number of things you can do in the short-term to make life a bit more peaceful for her:
– Multi-vitamins. It’s essential she keeps up her nutrition, especially if grief is causing her not to eat well.
– Rescue Remedy (pictured). This is a Bach Flower essence that calms the mind and works on a person’s energy field to relax and renew vitality.
– St Johns Wort is a natural anti-depressant which works really well as a short-term stopgap, to give your wife a bit of relief while she is healing emotionally. In Australia, Blackmores is a good brand because the dose has been tested – just follow the instructions on the bottle.
Just be aware that St Johns Wort is also a liver tonic, so it reduces the effectiveness of the contraceptive pill if she is using that.
Above all, Carlos, please know that your wife will heal in time. Just be present with her. Allow her to cry, encourage her to laugh. Show her compassion when she can’t sleep. Assure her that her anxiety sleep disorder is a short-term issue, and she won’t feel confused and muddled forever.
